Food with thought as the streat sponsors arts conference
Audiences NI, the audience development agency for Northern Ireland, is delighted to announce that its annual conference will be sponsored by local café franchise, the streat. Taking the theme of brand identity, the day-long event will explore how the ‘personality’ of an organisation influences its customers’ perceptions. Michael McQuillan, Managing Director of the streat, will join a roster of high calibre speakers, including the Head of Marketing at London’s Barbican Centre, to address delegates. The conference will be held at Ormeau Baths Gallery on Thursday 7 February 2008 and is expected to attract up to 75 arts professionals from across Ireland.

Arts Sector Rally
Northern Ireland ’s arts sector, supported by the Arts Council, organised the Keep Our Arts Alive rally on Monday 10 December in a bid to save the arts and to improve the allocation contained within the Draft Budget 2008-2011, currently out for public consultation and which closes on 4th January 2008.

The arts in Northern Ireland are in danger of dying from neglect. That was the message of artists, arts professionals and supporters who gathered at Carson’s statue at Stormont to make a public call for increased arts funding.

Getting Your Message Across with Andrea Montgomery Wednesday 28 November, 10am – 4.30pm, Waterfront Hall, Belfast.
How you communicate with other people is much more than what you say. The way you hold yourself, your tone of voice, your eye movement and other non verbal signals are all contributing to how your message is being received, and therefore how effective it is. Whether you’re pitching to a potential sponsor, delivering a presentation or simply communicating with colleagues, being aware of, and being able to control, the impression you make is vital.
