Audiences NI Invited to Set Up Ministerial Arts Advisory Forum

Further to meetings with DCAL Minister Carál Ní Chuilín and her advisors, Audiences NI have been formally invited to set up and chair a Ministerial Arts Advisory Forum (MAAF).

The forum aims to bring together arts organisations to discuss key issues, propose ideas and feedback views to both the Minister and her officials.

It is hoped that this approach will supplement and enhance the Department’s relationship with the Arts Council, whilst assisting the Minister to develop meaningful priorities and targets.

Attendance at the MAAF will most likely be through a process of co-option, as individuals and organisations are brought in to work together on specific topics and/or policy issues, and will be co-ordinated by Audiences NI. Our Chief Executive, Steven Hadley, will Chair the meetings and report back to the Minister and her officials. The forum will initially focus on the Department’s role in supporting the arts and on the current and future strategic context of that support.

Audiences NI are delighted to be working with the Minister and her Department on this important initiative, and to be leading on the development of a role for our members and the wider sector in informing and developing arts and cultural policy. We aim to provide updates and progress from the Forum via our website, electronic and social media channels. Please direct any enquiries to Steven Hadley, Chief Executive via steven.hadley@audiencesni.com.
